Children’s Ministry
The Brooks Avenue Children’s Ministry strives to help children understand God’s love for and plans for his people throughout the Bible. We guide our children as they begin to develop a relationship with God, the Father, and their Lord, Jesus Christ. We endeavor to assist parents, as they lead their children in their faith Journey and learn to be part of the community of the church as a whole.
Goals for developing a relationship with God are accomplished through Bible classes and take home activities for children 6 months through high school. Children’s classes are Bible based, fun, engaging and taught at age-appropriate levels. Our youngest children enjoy play-based learning with a focus on God’s love for them. Elementary age children can expect to study from God’s word, discuss real world applications, and spend time with a fun game or craft. After 5th grade, children are encouraged to transition into the youth group with classes for Middle and High School.
All adults who work with children have passed a background check. A check in procedure ensures that children are safely picked up by their family at the end of Bible Class.
To build community, several opportunities are provided for children, parents and/or the church community as a whole to gather to encourage one another. Some of these include an Easter Egg Hunt (April), a Family Picnic (September / October), a Fall Festival (October), and the Gingerbread Bash (December) and various Family Fun & Games events.
We want every child to feel loved and accepted at the Brooks Avenue Church of Christ. We invite you to let us get to know and love your child.
